Propeller is one of the most important spare parts for your engine and plays the same role as the tires do in your car. It must be carefully selected for different boats to have the optimum thrust and speed with the minimum fuel consumption. The following formulas are simple and useful for this purpose:

  • For heavy loads use a larger diameter and smaller pitch.
  • For light loads use a smaller diameter and larger pitch.

You can find the diameter and pitch of a propeller from its standard model code:
D x P – type (For example in  13 x 19 – K, the diameter is 13 inches, the pitch is 19 inches and the type is K.)

PAG outboard propellers which are made of special aluminum alloys on high pressure die-casting machines have an optimum combination of mechanical properties such as impact resistance, high tensile strength, excellent corrosion resistance and light weight.

Smooth driving, correct operation and satisfaction of all technical demands in the most severe operational conditions as well as a long service life are the most important factors which has created insurance for our customers. These qualities were not achieved unless the following items were fulfilled:

  • Proper kinematic design for sufficient thrust and speed;
  • Use of light, tough, impact resistant and corrosion resistant aluminum alloys for blades. (This type of alloys will bend instead of breaking, in case of colliding with floating objects.)
  • Use of reliable rubber coupling and shock absorber;
  • Use of corrosion resistant bronze spline;
  • Use of three layers of corrosion resistant epoxy marine paints;
  • Dynamic balance control.

These propellers cover a wide range of motors as 15, 25, 40, 48, 55, 75, 85, 115, 150, 200, and 250 hp.
